Recent post asking which IMAX is the best in the USA – And here's my comment with some similar prior posts. Useful if you're looking for some of the absolute best, although there's great ones outside the US as well.

Mar 23, 2023 · Plus most movies these days don't take full advantage of the premium formats outside of Christopher Nolan who actually uses real IMAX cameras. The rest are "enhanced for IMAX". Most AMC "IMAX" are old theaters they've retrofitted with a screen that stretches wall to wall and floor to ceiling, but it's not shown in the proper scope for real IMAX.

Feb 27, 2022 · I've had some bad sound experiences at AMC IMAX too, sometimes there is a rattle in the ceiling or something. It's been a long time since I've looked at the process for both, but last I looked the Jordans ticket was cheaper for a better quality experience, and AMC was more expensive for a regular movie experience with a big screen.

10 years ago was when they installed IMAX in the AMC. There was a real IMAX there independent of AMC, and it was a lot longer than ten years ago. This 1999 article about the mall even mentions the 65-foot screen. I think that's bigger than Fort Lauderdale's.
