Russia unleashed a drone and missile strike on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia overnight, killing one, wounding 31 others and leaving tens of thousands without power or heat, officials said on Thursday.

Russian forces launched an overnight missile strike on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia on Thursday, hitting residential buildings, according to the region’s governor, Ivan Fedorov. He reported four explosions in the city.

The attack, which also wounded dozens of people, came hours after Ukraine’s military attacked an oil depot deep inside Russia.

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia on the evening of January 22. As a result, a fire broke out in one of the city's districts, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration,

Officials in southern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region said Thursday a Russian ballistic missile attack killed at least one person and injured 24 others. Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said on Telegram that Russian drones also destroyed an energy facility and knocked out power to tens of thousands of people.
