Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard and several others are named in two lawsuits relating to a brawl that broke out during a heated Thornton Township meeting in January.

Along with the "super mayor" and her beau, the men are suing a Thornton Township employee, a Dolton employee, the South Holland Police and private security firm AllPoints Security and Detective Inc.

Dolton employees were without life insurance when premiums weren’t paid, though messages were relayed to Mayor Tiffany Henyard.

The activists began their journey from Dolton to the Gold Coast following Monday's village board meeting, after trustees learned that the life insurance policy for all village employees was canceled for nonpayment.

Tiffany Henyard, Thornton Township and others were sued last week in federal court over their roles in a fight at a chaotic township board meeting back on Jan. 28.
