Kansas City Chiefs' superstar defensive lineman Chris Jones finally addressed fans after the Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has a history of tearing up during the national anthem, and he came ready for his emotions during Sunday’s Super Bowl. During musician Jon Batiste’s stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Jones actually had a tissue with him ready to wipe away his tears.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles faced off in Super Bowl LIX, where the winner is set to take home the Lombardi Trophy. While the Chiefs entered the game with extensive experience, they were dominated right out of the gate.

Jones is on a five-year $158,750,000 contract extension that he signed in May 2024. He is making almost $32,000,000 per season. However, Jones’ outstanding pass-rushing ability is well worth the cost to the Chiefs, who rely on him to anchor their defensive line.

On Monday, Jones, the former Mississippi State standout, took to social media to send a parting message to Kansas City fans following the heartbreaking loss. "What a year….KC," Jones wrote on X.
