EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A mild day is in store for much of the area today as temperatures are forecasted to climb into the 40’s and 50’s. While the milder weather is nice, it won’t last long as snow begins to move on Sunday night and into Monday thanks to a shortwave (disturbance) behind our low pressure system.

After snow showers & freezing drizzle Sunday morning, a milder end to the weekend with considerable cloudiness. A First Alert for Monday morning as more snow is on the way. This will be a narrow band of snow with accumulations ranging from an inch to a few inches.

The snow should then quickly make an exit after 9am, leading to a drier afternoon, with improved driving conditions. Total snow accumulations of 2-5″ can be expected for areas under the advisory, while within the heaviest band, isolated 6″ amounts will be possible.
