New Delhi CM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday named first-time MLA Rekha Gupta as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Gupta's name was officially announced during the BJP’s legislature party meeting, which was attended by observers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Om Prakash Dhankhar.

Within hours of taking oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, along with her Cabinet colleagues, perform ‘Yamuna aarti’ at the city’s Vasudev Ghat. The party leaders then headed to the Delhi secretariat for the first Cabinet meeting.

Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister and quickly initiated her duties. She announced the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the tabling of 14 pending CAG reports, fulfilling BJP's pre-poll promises and taking responsibility for multiple government departments.
